For the past 2 years most of us worked from home and as we move more towards working from home, it’s vital to setup better home office. Setting up a good work setup at home makes you more productive. I recently got a Jabra Evolve2 wireless headset for my home office setup and would like to share my experience with these pair of headphones.
Jabra Evolve 2 65 is an excellent choice if your day involves lot of calls and meetings. This headset works with leading Unified Communications (UC) platforms for a seamless collaboration. There are 2 models available in this model – UC certified and Teams Certified. UC certified model is tuned to work best for zoom communications and Teams certified model is tuned to cater Microsoft teams users. Teams certified model has a dedicated Microsoft Teams button and purple LED flashes for Microsoft Teams notifications like missed call, voicemails and Meetings reminder.
Build and Design
Jabra Evolve 2 series is a profession headphone priced at $249 in US. Its build is solid, ear cushions are comfortable for extended use. The foam oval ear cushions can cut out background noises and provide some passive noice cancellation. It’s built with a powerful 40mm leak-tolerant speakers which delivers superb audio quality when listening to music or during calls. Jabra Evolve 2 65 has Busy ON/Busy OFF lights which shows a red and green indicator on when you’re on/off calls. It’s dedicated mic can be muted by pushing it up and can be unmuted by pulling back in.
How good is Jabra Evolve2 65’s Battery Life
It’s battery life is excellent which gives you 37 hours of battery life on a full charge. It takes 90 minutes to have a full charge. A 15-minute fast charge should give you 8 hours of battery life which is good enough for 2 days. I used to full charge it once a week for my use which is insane battery life.
Charging Port and Accessories
Another great plus in Jabra Evolve 2 65 is USB-C charging. I love when my products have USB type C charging so I need not worry about more charging cables. You can also buy a bluetooth charging stand as an additional accessory. In the box, headset comes with charging cable, manuals and a nice leather pouch to carry. Interestingly it doesn’t have 3.5 mm jack so you cannot use it wired.
This headset is compatible to use with any Windows laptop, MacBook, Tablets, Android Phones and iPhones. Its wireless range is specified as 30 m/100 feet on a soft phone call or when listening to music. Also you can connect multiple devices at a time like to a phone and a computer. It toggles seamlessly between devices based on the use. You can get firmware updates from Jabra Direct and audio tuning using Jabra Sound+ which I highly recommend for adjusting sound settings.
Final Thoughts on Jabra Evolve2
I’m using this Jabra headset for a few months now and its been a great experience. It checks all the boxes for me including calls, music quality, noice cancellation feature, comfort and battery life. Initially I had some connectivity issues which was later fixed through a firmware upgrade. If you ‘re looking for a headset in this budget, it’s a great premium device and comes with a one year warranty.
